AFRICA WOMEN TRADE CONFERENCE (AWTC) Nigeria

Organization for Women In Trade (OWIT) was established in 1989 and is a global association for women in international trade and business. Our 2000-plus members impact hundreds of millions of dollars in trade and business transactions annually. It’s focus is on adding value to corporate, mid-sized, small businesses and individual members around the world. OWIT Chapters has a growing network of 27 global chapters which include four (4) chapters in Africa which are OWIT Nigeria, OWIT Nairobi,  OWIT Zimbabwe and OWIT South Africa.

Background: The Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) NIGERIA was voted in as a member of the Global Body of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) International on October 26, 2018. OWIT Nigeria is strategically positioned in Africa to build enabled communities by empowering women business owners to succeed in local and global markets. Therefore, our core vision is to expand enabling export and business environment where women entrepreneurs enjoy improved and sustained livelihood. As a Trade Support Institution (TSI), OWIT Nigeria consist of women professionals and rural development actors thoroughly involved in diverse Businesses and Services for International Trade. Consequently, our mission is to employ Context-Based Approaches in order to effectively address knowledge deficiencies in relation to interactions with Global Network of Trade Experts, sustain applicable trades and technological developments, building partnerships and alliances with peer organizations and associations. We advance our mission by helping women at all levels to develop and execute global trade opportunities, while strengthening trading value chains.
