President Address

I Warmly welcome you to the Website of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT), Nigeria.
In pursuance of the aforementioned, the Nigerian Chapter of OWIT employs an array of Content-based Programmes for Women in order to effectively address Knowledge Deficiencies in relation to interactions with Global Network of Trade Experts, sustaining applicable trades and technological developments, building partnerships and alliances with peer organizations and associations. OWIT Nigeria similarly provides a platform for our Members to develop Business Opportunities, identify Mentors, and Foster Career Growths and Professional Development. We focus on adding value to our Corporate, Mid-sized, Small and Micro business in Nigeria and across the Globe. Consequently, our holistic approaches encompass support for Productive Stakeholders (Men and Women) in Rural Areas with cognisance that the production sector (of goods and services) is a core part of the supply value chain that sustains most businesses in international markets.
OWIT NIGERIA was voted in as a member of the Global Body of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) on October 26, 2018 in Nairobi Kenya. By this inclusion, OWIT Nigeria is the Third African Country Member and the First West African Country Member. The Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Nigeria is a non-profit Organization that umbrellas a combo of Women Professionals thoroughly ingressed in diverse Businesses and Services for International Trade. Again, OWIT Nigeria exists to support the advancement of Nigerian women in International Trades and Businesses through vibrant and impactful Programmes for Networking and Educational opportunities.
Since OWIT NIGERIA’s Inauguration, She has contributed to improving the living standards of over 1000 Women Artisans through initiatives like OWIT Community Care (OWIT ComCare ) programmes that seek to support Rural Community Farming (RCF) Activities, Value Chain Productions, Advocacy, and our recent Palliative Support Collaboration during Covid-19. As an adherent of the “Leave No One Behind” Campaign, just as I welcome all Women Entrepreneurs, I extend my hands of gender responsiveness to all men who want to expand and explore global markets.

OWIT Nigeria reckons with the Global Mission Statement of her Mother Body which supports the advancement of Women in International Trade and Businesses, thereby members are united around the globe to foster the advancement of Nigerian women in international Trade. OWIT Nigeria diligently seeks to provide gender focused interventions towards the achievement of globally adopted Sustainable Development Goals, which seeks to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. Of particular note, our Chapter is positioned to proffer interventions that address global challenges faced by women in the informal sector in Nigeria, including those related to poverty, inequality, and empowerment. Our membership is drawn from different sectors in Nigeria, including business and service providers.
